ABOUT STAMFORD GYMNASTICS CLUB

Stamford Gymnastics Club was set up in 2012 by Mat Cooper. We started with just 2 coaches, and 16 gymnasts in 1 class on 1 evening a week. The club has continued to grow, and now runs across 3 days a week, with over 190 gymnasts.

At the beginning it was just Mat and a volunteer coach Mr Harrison. Without the dedication, passion, and enthusiasm of Mr Harrison the club would not have become what it is today. In January of 2021 Mr Harrison passed away, the club was saddened by this news and wanted to honer him with a trophy at our annual club competition to keep the legacy he left behind alive.

We are currently based a in hired hall, but, in the not to distant future, we will have our own dedicated full time facility where we can expand our classes even more.

We can also boast that we have a highly qualified and experienced Woman Artistic Gymnastics Level 4 coach with 20+ years of coaching experience leading our recreational programme, not many clubs are in such a position.
